Once again Stephenville High School is showing off its excellence in academics. College Readiness Counselor Kristi Adams recently announced that 50 Stephenville students received the “Texas Student Achievement Award” from the Texas ACT Council for their performance on the PLAN Assessment.
“These students are on target to meet or exceed ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks by graduation,” Adam explained. “ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks are empirically-based and identify the level of achievement necessary in English, mathematics, reading and science to have a successful college freshman experience.”
The Texas ACT Council is comprised of secondary and postsecondary professional educators who advise ACT, Inc. on the implementation of ACT programs and services throughout Texas schools and colleges.
ACT Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that provides research, information, assessment and program management services in the general areas of education and future workforce development. It is also the publisher of the ACT Assessment test. ACT is the college admissions exam that is accepted by all colleges nationwide.
The Texas ACT Council feels that it is very important to give proper recognition to those students who are making significant strides to prepare themselves for a successful college career by taking challenging courses and meeting the Pre-ACT College Readiness Benchmarks. All of the hard work and dedication that the students, staff, faculty and parents of Stephenville High School have shown throughout the year should not go unnoticed.
