Oftentimes the strength of a city lies in the services and care it provides its residents and in Stephenville, medical care just got a little better.
According to a recent report from the Stephenville Empire Tribune, the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville is enjoying its recently renovated suite at the outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine center. With it, Texas Health Stephenville will be the first and only location in the area to offer a form of hyperbaric oxygen therapy used to treat wounds better and faster.
“The number of Americans who suffer from diabetes and lower extremity oxygen deficiencies is growing, so access to this type of therapy is paramount,” Patty Weidemann, program director of wound care services at Texas Health Stephenville, told the news source. “We are excited about the addition of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to complement our existing services and to offer patients the advanced care they need in a location closer to home.”
Weidemann added that there is a very real need for this type of service in the Stephenville community as individuals throughout the greater Erath County area suffering from non-healing wounds now have a resource that can help them through the recovery process.
With hyperbaric oxygen treatment, patients experience a two-hour treatment session where they are exposed to completely pure oxygen, which affects their blood and in turn promotes the healing process and fights infection.
Top-notch medical services is just one of the many attractions to Stephenville, making it the jewel of North Texas and one of the fastest growing areas in the state. The Stephenville housing market is ripe with opportunity, so if you’re interested in buying a new home in the area then the time to act is now.
