North Texas Growth Approaching Critical Mass

Back to Real Estate News

As the Dallas/Fort Worth area continues to expand, Stephenville real estate is becoming increasingly popular; in part, because of its convenient proximity to the downtown Dallas area. Downtown Dallas has made significant strides toward becoming a revitalized district, and experts say that new developments should promote downtown living and encourage more young professionals to move to new condos and lofts in the area.

According to Dallas city officials, there need to be more than 10,000 residents in the downtown area in order for the central business district to become a viable residential area. Experts are hopeful that growth will continue, especially as the housing market continues to be one of the top-performing real estate markets nationwide.

Many large apartment buildings and complexes are in the works for downtown Dallas. For instance, the Mercantile Continental building at Commerce and St. Paul streets will be converted into an apartment building with 203 units. The 42-story Museum Tower condominiums will also provide a substantial boost to the available housing downtown, and developers say that sales are exceeding their expectations.
