A Night Out at the 281 Speedway

Back to Real Estate News

If you’re looking for something to do this evening, head out to 281 Speedway for 2012 Season Finale and Spring Series of Texas. The Saturday night dirt track racing season draws to a close tonight, and Stephenville home owners who are fans of the sport are encouraged to attend. The season will resume in March 2013.

The quarter-mile, semi-banked, oval clay track is located approximately three miles north of Stephenville on Highway 281. It’s a popular place to take the entire family, partly because it’s so affordable. Admission for adults is $10.00, children 6-12 years old is $3.00, and anyone younger is admitted for free. You can pack up a cooler and bring it inside (as long as it is no larger than a 12-can size), and part of the fun is picnicking with the family before and during the races. 281 Speedway also has a kid’s club with different activities for kids planned throughout the year, and also gives out trophies.

The gates open at 6:00 p.m. and racing begins at 8:00 p.m. Tonight’s event will feature six classes of racing including MCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA I Stocks, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, and Compact Cruisers. It’s definitely racing that will keep you and your family on the edge of your seats, so if you’re looking for an action-packed night out, there’s no better place to spend it than 281 Speedway.
There are so many reasons to consider becoming a Stephenville home owner. “Jamie Stockstill held my hand through the entire process. Being a first time home buyer I had a million questions but she was always there, no matter what time of day, to answer my calls or texts. I always felt like she was working for my best interest. I will recommend her to anyone I come across looking to buy or sell.”
